The aim of this study is to evaluate the acknowledgement of psychoanalysis in university students. A total of 333 university students from Chonnam National University were evaluated through a questionnaire titled "Acknowledgement of Psychoanalysis." The questionnaire contains questions about educational experience of psychoanalysis, knowledge of the basic concept of psychoanalysis, and desire to learn more about psychoanalysis. The results are as follows: 1. Few university students had any educational experience of psychoanalysis, which is useful to their mental health. 2. University students are relatively familiar with basic concepts and issues of psychoanalysis, such as Sigmund Freud, topographical theory, the unconscious, the Oedipus complex...etc. 3. Many students (75.5%) said that studying psychoanalysis would be helpful to their mental health. 4. 90.9% of the subjects would like the chance to listen to a lecture on psychoanalysis. In conclusion, university students have a significant interest in psychoanalysis and are eager to learn more about it. Therefore it would be very useful to establish a lecture on psychoanalysis in the university curriculum.
